      2. Johann Friedrich Konrad, Jr., born July 19, 1849 in Lemberg, Rhenish Bavaria ⁴; died April 04, 1933 in Rosemount, Warren County, IA. He was the son of 4. Johann Friedrich Konrad, Sr. and 5. Anna Maria Weiss. He married 3. Veronica Griesbaum February 08, 1875 in Bauer, Marion County, IA.

      3. Veronica Griesbaum, born January 01, 1852 in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa; died September 02, 1942 in Des Moines, Polk County, IA. She was the daughter of 6. Andreas Griesbaum and 7. Amalia Ohnemus.

OBITUARY

      Fredrick Konrad was born in Lemberg, Germany July 19, 1849 and died April 4, 1933 after an illness of two years of heart trouble, and complications, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 17 days. He came from Germany to Pennsylyania and lived there for several years, then came to Iowa, where he was united in marriage to Veronica Griesbaum on Feb. 8, 1875. To this union nine children were born, three preceding him in death, Caroline, Jake, and Albert. Those living are Edward of Heyburn, Idaho, Fred of Bellflower, Calif., Millie Beeler of Des Moines, Ia., Mary Gass of Oakland, Ca., Andrew and Joseph of Lacona, who with the bereaved wife are left to mourn his loss 38 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two brothers, Henry of Boise, Idaho and Nicholas of Lacona, one sister, Sally Wise of Pa., and a host of friends and relatives.
      He had lived on the farm where he died for 58 year. The funeral was held Saturday April 8, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's church at Rosemount, conducted by Rev. J.J. Judge and he was laid to rest in the Rosemount cemetery, six of his grandsons acted as pall bearers.

OBITUARY

Veronica Griesbaum, daughter of Andrew and Amelia Griesbaum, was born at Keokuk, IA, January 1,1852 and passed away in Des Moines September 1, 1942 at the age of 90 years and 8 months.
At the age of 3 she moved, with her parents, in a covered wagon, to Warren County, near Lacona, where she lived until her marriage February, 1875, to Fredrick Konrad.
To this union were nine children, Caroline, Jake and Albert preceding her in death. Those living are; Edd, of Hayburn, Idaho ; Fred of Bellflower, California; Millie Beeler, of Des Moines; Mary Gass of Oakland, California; Andy of Lacona; and Joe, of Fort Des Moines.
She lived with her husband at Rosemount until his death April, 1933. She has spent the last five years with her daughter, Mrs. Millie Beeler in Des Moines where she passed away.
She was a consistent member of the Catholic church.
Besides the children, Mrs. Konrad leaves to mourn her loss, 37 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 4, 1942 at the St. Johns Catholic church in Des Moines, Rev. Flood officiating. Interment was in the Rosemount cemetery.

Charles and Millie were living in Lacona at the Pogue house when it caught fire by lightning and burnt to the ground. 3 year old Alfred Beeler went back into the burning house to go to bed when Wayne Fehrer pulled him out just in time. After their house burned the Beeler family moved to Des Moines.
