I would like to send out a special Thank You to Doug Bewick, and his family. We were greatful to have hooked up online, and had the privilage to visit with him while in Scotland. Thank you for all of your hard work in researching the Bewick family.
Doug helped our Bagpipe Band with arrangments for transportation while competiting in Scotland. Northwest Indiana Pipes And Drums Inc. made history while in Scotland becoming the first Bagpipe band from Indiana to ever compete in the Worlds Champiponships. It was truly an amazing experience.

George Douglas (Doug)Adkins was born in Hawesville, Kentucky April 1, 1944. He is the youngest of 8 children. His father's name was Floyd Adkins born in 1902, and his mothers name was Mary Agnes Corley, born in 1901. His siblings are Walter Adkins, Jim Adkins, Mary Adkins-Hardin, Henry Adkins, Dorthy Adkins-Marsh, Lillian Adkins-Lillpop, Allen Adkins, and George Douglas(Doug)Adkins.
Doug was married to Christine Joy Burton November 13, 1965. They have 3 daughters. Rebecca (Becky)Alice Adkins-Bewick, born November 7, 1967. Barbara (Barby)Jo Adkins-Alfredson, born October 13, 1969. Beverly (Bev)Jean Adkins-McMullan, born September 26, 1977. All three girls were born in Valparaiso, Indiana. Doug Adkins has worked at McDaniel Fire Systems in Valparaiso, Indiana for more than 35 years. They install fire protection, and sprinkler systems in homes, commercial buildings, and more.
Christine Joy Burton-Adkins was born in Chicago, Illinois, October 13, 1949. Her father's name was St. Clair Sylvan Burton. Her mother's name was Margret (Alice) Underwood. Christine has a brother. His name is Tom Burton, born in Chicago, Illinois. Christine, and Tom's mother passed away when they were young. Other siblings of Chris, & Tom are Cathy Burton - Turner, and Christopher Burton. Their mothers name is Margret (Ann) Thomas. Both were born in Valparaiso, Indiana. Margret (Ann), Cathy, and Christopher currently live in Frodsham, Cheshire, England with their families. Margret (Ann's) mother has currently turned 100 years old. Her name is Elsie May Thomas, born 1903.
Christine has done a great deal of research on the Adkins, Burton families. We are seeking still information on our families to help fill in several missing links.

Keary Allen Bewick was born at St. Mercy Hospital in Gary, Indiana on April 28, 1957. He is the middle child in a family of 5 children. His fathers name is Charles Robert Bewick, and his mother is Betty Jane Cooper. Keary's siblings are Debbie Bewick - Smith, Robert (Kent), Keary, Kevin, and William (Bill).
Keary Allen Bewick married Rebecca Alice Adkins on September 6, 1997 at Mackinac Island, Michigan. They have a daughter Beverly "Allison" Bewick, born April 17, 1999. Keary also has 2 daughters from a previous marriage. Alesia Marie Bewick, born November 25, 1985. Kerri Lynn Bewick, born January 19, 1989. Keary comes from a family in the field of Dentistry. Keary, his father, brother, and brother-in-law are all Dentists. He also has other relatives that are Dentists, or in the field of Dentistry. Keary is also in a local bagpipe band. Northwest Indiana Pipes And Drums Inc. The band is planning on going to Scotland in August 2003. We hope to meet up with some Bewick family members, and gain search some family history while there.
We have had a great deal of trouble finding any information on the Bewick family. The Bewick's came from Dunfermline, Scotland. The name is of English desent.
