Hi, Allthough quite new to this whole family tree thing, I am happy to say that I have a very dedicated Aunt Velma Beyette (nee Rinn) of Dauphin, Manitoba, and a cousin / brother-in-law, David James (Jim) Beyette of Beausejour, Manitoba who have both been working on our family history for years. They have provided me with all of their research files and I am happy to say that I have records of some of my ancestors back into the 1600's. I find it exciting to look back through these records, but find it disheartening that we cannot go back and actually interview these people to hear just how they lived, etc. I guess that is the newspaper reporter coming out in me. I am a reporter for a regional weekly newspaper in our rural Manitoba region. I also believe that is why it is important to start keeping better records and historys of our families now, so that some day our descendants will have a better idea of our lives and times. I am 50 years old, have been married to Martha Grace (nee Posthumus) for 29 years, and we have three grown children. Timothy (Tim) Wayne is 28 years old and is currently teaching English in Japan. Anita Grace is 26, is married to Byron Gryba, and is living and working in Winnipeg as a paralegal in a lawyer's office in Winnipeg, MB. Wilbert (Webb) Norman is 25 and is working for SWAT,an exterminating business in Winnipeg. |
