The families I am searching for at this time are on my maternal grandmother's side. Her father was John Franklin Shipley. He was born in Virginia and later moved with his family to Tennessee. According to his death certificate his father was John Shipley. My grandmother always told me his mother's maiden name was Love, however, his death certificate states it was Mize. My mother seems to think her aunt gave the wrong information as she too always thought it was Love. He married Mary Virginia Steffey in Tennessee. He died and is buried in Greenville, Texas. I am trying to sort this out.
