This web page is dedicated to Daniel Charles Bickford. His last place on earth was Algansee Township in Branch County, Michigan. Daniel was born in the New England States in 1781 and married Eunince Trask Knapp in 1814 in Canada. Eunice had one child from a prior marriage and they raised another child in Canada. In 1818 they moved the family to Seneca County, Ohio and raised five more children. Daniel purchased land in Seneca County and improved it for farming.

Around 1836 he packed up the family and moved west to Branch County, Michigan. Daniel and his oldest son Jonathan purchased land in Algansee Township and cleared the land farming. His other son's became farmers along with his grandsons.
Most of the main family died in Algansee Township and were buried in Lester Cemetery.

Daniel's family and decendants married into the following families. Thompson, Purdy, Ayres, Goodwin, Hughey, Sweetland, Whaley, Goodrich, Dove, Warren, Clark, Craig, Aldrich, Cole, May, King, Hall, Rhoades, Carpenter, Shields, Shinn, McClure, Droke, Morey, Whitehead, Carter, Heroy, Rice, Frederick, Scott, Klinger, Wescott, Brown, Poggemeyer, Smiley and Smith.

Daniel's decendants branched out from Michigan to Kansas, Illinios, California, Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas.
