Alice Myrtle Aldrich (b. January 31, 1875, d. June 06, 1957)
Alice Myrtle Aldrich (daughter of Edgar D. Aldrich and Olive Edilda Bickford)1 was born January 31, 1875 in Algansee Twp., Branch Co., MI., and died June 06, 1957 in Coldwater, Branch Co., MI.. She married Archie Wilber Cole on January 31, 1897 in Coldwater, Branch Co., MI.1.
Notes for Alice Myrtle Aldrich: She was a dead shot with her pistol. She liked to play dominos with the grand kids. She belonged to a Birthday Club with her lady friends who would get together to celebrate with a small party, cake, ice cream, and read poems they had written.
Alice and her mother, Olive, ventured to Kansas and back in covered wagons when Alice was small. Her brother also went and others. Alice and Olive returned when Alice was 10 yrs old.
In her grandson John R. Cole's baby book it lists Alice Mertie Cole, but there is a silver napkin ring with the name Myrtle on it, so I am using that for her middle (assuming it belonged to her and that Mertie was a nickname for Myrtle).
Branch Co. Clerk's records show her death date as June 5, 1957 ( we have it as June 6th). She died in her son's house, 243 W. Chicago St., Coldwater, MI., where she was staying because she was ill. Her home was next door at 247 W. Chicago St., Coldwater, MI.
