BULLDOZER CRUSHES YOUNG QUINCY OPERATOR Machine flips while being loaded in Kinderhook area. Robert L. Baker, 18, a bulldozer operator for L. A. Wood Co. of Quincy, was crushed to death Saturday morning while loading a two-ton bulldozer on a truck at Rolland Peters Farm in Kinderhook Township. According to sheriff officers, who were called to the scene, the young man was driving a bulldozer onto a low-boy and gave it to much gas, causing it to flip over on top of him and pin him underneath. Corner, Thomas J. Baggerly was called and stated that the cause of death was a fractured neck and crushed chest. He was unable to ascertain which injury was the fatal one.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2p.m. from the Diedrich Funeral Home in Quincy, Michigan, with Reverand Birt Beers in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Mr. Baker was born in Coldwater on October 18, 1946, son of Thomas and Juanita(Parker) Baker. He graduated with the Quincy High School class of 1965 and belonged to the Quincy F.F.A.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. & Mrs Baker of Quincy Route 3. Two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Patricia) Harbaugh, Ray, Ind. and Mrs. Charles (Donna) Beemer, Union City, Michigan and one brother David living at home.
