Since 1998, I have been doing some extensive research into the history of the Josef Biebel, b. 1810 in Sendelbach Germany and have had the help of many wonderful people. I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to Sendelbach, Germany in May of 2000 and met with a Maria Biebel who claims to be the last Biebel to be born in that area. Thanks to the research efforts of her daughter,Theresa Eckstein of Sendelbach, Germany, much new information has been obtained an added to this page. She felt she is part of our strain of Biebel's and this was confiremed after finding records of their church in Wurzburg, Germany. Through this we discovered that there was an older daughter Klara previous unknown and also a daughter Eva Rosina. Information found listed two generations prior to Josef. His father was Georgi Adami Biebel and his grandfather was Severin Biebel. Also recently found was the fact that Joseph and Eva Rosina left Germany in 1847 on a ship called Stoffen with four children. Family information on both Georgi and Severin can be found in this report. We also know that Josef and Eva Rosina had three children die at birth or in their first year. I am continuing my research and would appreciate hearing from anyone whose surname is Biebel or a relative of someone with the Biebel surname. I am looking for complete names, date & place of birth, date & place of death when appropriate, date & place of marriage if appropriate for all individuals that are descendants of Josef Biebel and Eva Rosina Schurger(in).
