Daniel R. Bickett Obituary Daniel R. Bickett, 918 West Fourth Street, who had been a resident of La Junta since 1900, died last night (April , 1938) about 11 o'clock at the Mennonite hospital from heart trouble after an illness of ten days. Mr. Bickett was born at Maryville, Mo., June 26, 1867 and was 70 years old. He was first employed after coming to La Junta, by the Santa Fe Railroad and Later took employment with the La Junta Milling Co. During the last 13 years he worked for the city a foreman of the street department. He was married at Maryville, Missouri, December l, 1891 to Myrtle Mae Cook.
Mr. Bickett is survived by his wife and 11 children. One daughter, Mrs. Alma B. Denton, died in Pueblo Jan. 17, 1926. The surviving children are Raymond, Thad, Harry, Alva, Kenneth, and Olive, Myrtle and Hazel Bickett, all of La Junta; Mrs. Wm. Clements of Pueblo and Mrs. Frederick Church of Rocky Ford. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters at Trinidad and one brother of Los Angeles, Calif., also survive.
Mr, Bickett was a member of the La Junta Lodge of Elks. Funeral services will be held from the chapel at the Green Mortuary Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Elks will have charge of services at the grave in Fairview Cemetery.
