This is an ongoing project to research my ancestors and to leave a legacy for my children.

My father's ancestors came from Ireland to the United States from about 1850 until 1890. They mostly settled in San Francisco, CA, where the children attended Catholic schools. My ancestors' surnames include: Kirby, Keefe, Welch, Geraghty, Nolan and Shields. I haven't had any luck so far in finding any ancestors in Irish records, but am still searching.

My mothers's ancestors have been in America for a long time. We have a fairly complete genealogy on one branch of her family, which was compiled by a great-uncle in the 1930's. We also recently inherited a family scroll, which appears to be a transcription of the records in a family bible. From these sources, I have found other links to French Huguenot ancestors living in New York in the late 1600's, and to very early colonies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I have even found that our family appears to be descended from two Pilgrims who traveled on the Mayflower, William Brewster and Stephen Hopkins.
Some of the surnames from this side of the family are: Stevens, Manbert (Mambert, Manbrut) Weaver, Crosby, Bowen and Eddy.

I would love to correspond with any others researching these families and to share information.
