This is research on the Bisker Family surname. I have discovered that my family line was orignally named Friedag/Fridag from the area around Buldern, Prussia in the early 1700's. Buldern, Prussia is located just southwest of Münster, Germany, between the towns of Billerbeck on the west and Senden on the east. Joannes Fridag and Catherina Reisman were the parents of Joan Henrich Friedag, father of Anton Fridag "called" Büscher. The family line with the last name Bisker starts with Bernard Henrich Bisker (Büscher) who was born 16 March 1799 in Senden, Prussia. His parents were Anton Fridag Büscher and Christina Elisabeth Brüse who married in 1797. Bernard Henrich was one of six children from this second marriage. Anton Fridag was previously married to a Catherine Büscher and they had three children. It appears that Catherine died at child birth of their 3rd child. Anton must have picked up his Büscher surname from his first marriage.Bernard Henrich Büscher married Maria Anna Florien 2 October 1827 in Billerbeck, Prussia.They had five children in Billerbeck, Bernard Anton, Bernard Henrich, John Henrich,another Bernard Henrich and Catherine Elisabeth.The first Bernard Henrich must have died early. Bernard immigrated to the U S through Baltimore, Md in June of 1841 with his wife, Mary and 4 children, Andrew, John, Benjamin(Bernard Henrich) and Lisette. Lisette was only about 14 days old when the family signed up for the ocean crossing per the ship manifest. It appears that about this time the surname was changed to Bisker possibly because Büscher (Buescher) sounded like Bisker when they arrived although some early records used the Buescher name.They settled in the York, Pa area. It appears that Henry and Mary had a 5th child, Anna Mary in about 1843.Bernard's obituary in 1888 indicated that he had eight children, 40 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Bernard Henrich also had a brother Theodore who also settled in the York area and was living with his nephew John Henrich Bisker in 1860. My family line comes from Andrew and Genevive's first son Henry and they migrated down to Baltimore, Md in the early 1880's; then Henry's son Jerome Edward Bisker and family to Salem, Md in the late 1920's and finally to Salisbury, Md in the late 1930's. I have also included the Ingleson, Nagel, Russell and Bradley family lines. The Ingleson family came to the US in the early 1800's from Ripley,England and settled in Baltimore, Md.The Bradley family has been traced back to the early 1800's located in Dorchester County Maryland. The Russell family has been traced back to 1785 when Thomas Russell was born in Lancaster, Pa. It is believed that his parents were Welsh or Irish. The Nagel Family came to the US between 1878 and 1911. Gottlieb Nagel and wife Rosina immigrated from Germany in 1878 and moved through Nebraska, Kansas and Indiana before coming to Federalsburg, Caroline County Maryland.Henry Ferdinand and Louisa Nagel came from Germany in abt 1883 and over 17 years, migrated through Kansas, Louisiana, North Carolina until they settled in Caroline County, Maryland. Rudoph Nagel arrived in the US abt 1911 and settled in Caroline County, Maryland.
