This is Dale and JoAnn Bixler's homepage, we live in Rolla, Missouri. We have two children and one grandbaby.To begin our account of the BICKSLER - BIXLER Family it is only reasonable, that we try to explain the meaning of the name and note some of the changes through which the name has gone. In searching through census records, tax records, ships logs, deeds, wills,marriage licenses, even Church records of christenings and baptismal records as well as death and obituaries,we find a wide varity of spellings of the Family name. Many older ones could not read or write, so they made an X, or drew initials and some one else wrote the name as it sounded phonicically to them.
Colonial Records show that Christian Bishler, came over on a ship called "Adventure" in 1727, landing in Philadelphia, Penn. in October of that year. If there is any family that would like information, we have quite an extensive genology compiled by my father Leon Rea Bixler. Please contact us.
