| This website is for the descendents of Mr. Ambard de la Durante from Marseilles, South France. THERE WAS RECENTLY A REUNION: (as written by Phil Martin, with a couple of inserts from Desiree) Angela Ambard Magne (daughter of Walter) is in Houston, Texas and Yvonne (daughter of Walter is in Lafayette, Louisiana). Angela just celebrated her 93rd birthday on July 4th! Philip Martin and his wife, Narda recently met Louis Magne and his son Larry (wife Jane) when Angela and Yvonne had a reunion in Houston, AFTER NOT SEEING EACH OTHER FOR 80 YEARS!!!! Louis and Larry provided most of the data on Walter's side of the family, with the help of Flora and others. The current burst of activity was brought about when Louis and Larry visited the Tides Restaurant in Barbados. Larry chatted with Anna Adamira while his wife was looking at a necklace at The Tides Restaurant and the Ambard name came up in their conversation. Auntie Anna and my mum, Margarita Ambard-Diaz were close friends in Barbados, hence the reason why she knew the name, Ambard. Not many people do. Auntie Anna Adamira then promptly called Desiree at some dreadful hour at night (I'm usually sleeping after 9pm), who then shared the e-mail addresses with Flora Espinet. Auntie Flora Ambard-Espinet then organized this family reunion between two long-lost sisters with the help of family, and she was an honored guest at the reception in Houston. Small and beautiful world! MAYBE THERE ARE MORE REUNIONS TO COME!!!! |
