I started researching my Lumbee Indian ancestry in Robeson County, NC in the summer of 2003. What started out as a hobby might possibly be an addiction. My mom and 99% of her ENTIRE family still live in the same area their parents lived and their parents before them and so on... for about 300 years. My main lines of descent are Emanuel, Oxendine, Lowry, and Maynor. Other lines include Locklear, Strickland, Sweat, Carter, Chavis, and Brewer. I would love any personal additions to my research such as pictures, journals, or even a family bible. Learning more about my ancestry is not only fascinating, but also very important.I believe genealogy is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy found in Malachi 4:5-6. I would be thrilled to collaborate and/or share any information I have.
