ATKINSON, Alfreda
ATKINSON, Alfreda - 94, Stoney Island, Shelburne Co., passed away peacefully on April 24, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Clam Point, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Daisy (Smith) Atkinson. Alfreda spent most of her working life in the United States in Hood's Dairy, Malden, Mass. for over 40 years. She moved back to Nova Scotia in 1988, where she spent her final retirement years. She was actively involved in the Atlantic Cemetery Club, Stoney Island. She enjoyed nature to it's fullest, especially her birds and garden. Alfreda will be missed greatly by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by sister, Ina (Trail) Smith, Stoney Island. She was predeceased by sisters, Audrey Ruth Hatfield and Regina Mae Smith. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Huskilson's Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Huskilson's Memorial Chapel, Barrington, Rev. Shaun Hatfield and Rev. Robie Atkinson officiating. Interment will be in Atlantic Cemetery, Stoney Island. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Stoney Island Cemetery Club or a charity of choice.
