2. ROBERT² BLAIR (EDWARD¹) was born Mar 1831 in Canada, and died 04 Oct 1904 in Ralls, County, Missouri. He married ELLEN MCCARTHY RALEIGH 23 Jan 1852 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, daughter of THOMAS RALEIGH and KATHERINE MACCARTHY. She was born Jun 1831 in County Cork, Ireland, and died Apr 1915 in Hannibal, Missouri.

Notes for ROBERT BLAIR:
In the early days of their marriage they also lived at West Roxborough, Ontario; Greenupsburg (now Greenup), Kentucky; at Glendale, Ohio (now the best residential section of Cincinatti); and at Hamilton, Ohio. ROBERT BLAIR served in the Civil War in Company E, 65th Ohio Infantry, 1st Ohio Volunteers.

Robert and Ellen became members of the Antioch Baptist Church in Ralls County of which Robert was a founder and deacon.

Notes for ELLEN MCCARTHY RALEIGH:
Supposedly born in some small village belonging to the Blarney Estate in southern Ireland.
Although ELLEN RALEIGH BLAIR was originally Catholic, she and her husband became members of the Antioch Baptist Church in Ralls County of which he was a founder and deacon.

He married (2) VITALENE LALONDE Abt. 1881 in Methodist Church, later named - St. Paul's United Church, Berwick, daughter of ISRAEL LALONDE and MARIE-ROSE-DE-LIMA LAUZON. She was born 05 Jan 1858 in Chute A' Blondeau, ), Prescott & Russell Districts, Ontario, and died 1949 in 224A Pitt, Cornwall, Ontario.

ENTERS NINTH DECADE -- Mrs. Edward Blair on Monday, January 5th, celebrated her 90th birthday, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blair, 224-A Pitt Street, Cornwall. Mrs. Blair is the eldest of 13 children of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Lalonde and was born in Roxborough Township on January 5, 1857. She is very active despite her advanced age..

Mrs. Edward Blair...Died last night in her 92nd year. Passing her 91st birthday last January 5th, and able to be about the house until a couple of weeks ago. Mrs. Edward Blair died at the home of her son E.J. Blair, 224A Pitt Street, Cornwall, Wednesday at 11:20pm. Her death will be sincerely regretted by many friends.
Born in Chute a Blondeau, Ontario. Mrs. Blair was the former Victoria Lalonde, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Israel Lalonde. Her husband died in Ottawa 35 years ago, in which city, Mrs. Blair had made her home for 40 years before coming to Cornwall two years ago. She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter ---

Interment will be made in the cemetery at Lodi, Ontario.
