Was said to be the youngest engineer on Illinois Central at that time. Possessed an inventive, creative turn of mind; had completed International Correspondence School Engineering course as prescribed at that time by Illinois Central for its training engineers. Built several miniature locomotives of various types and parts as a hobby. Interred in father's plot at Antioch."
