I am researching the BLANCHARD family of French origin and settlers of Acadia (now Nova Scotia) from the early 1600's on through their expulsion by the British in 1755, until the present. Another important project now being organized is locating BLANCHARDS interested in a world wide family reunion that will be held on August 7, 1999, in Napoleonville, Louisiana, in conjunction with the "Congres Mondial Acadien". This is a two week long cultural event for all Acadian desent people, world wide, which will be held in south Louisiana, throughout the Acadiana region. The main themes are family reunions and genealogy research, along with music, art, theater and food. Please send inquiries to:---------Ronnie Blanchard |
