      9. Katherine Priscilla Hughes, born 04 Feb 1873 in Fall Creek, IL; died 01 Oct 1937 in Payson IL New Cemetery. She was the daughter of Michael William Hughes and Cynthia Ann Thompson.

On Jan.9,1892 David Jacob was commissioned Commander of Camp #322 Sons of Veterans of the United States Of America.

Notes for Katherine Priscilla Hughes:
Catherine was accepted for membership into The Daughters of The American Revolution under National #247797 through her Revolutionary Ancestor, John Thompson who served from Pa. Her father Michael Wm. Hughes served in Company K of the 50th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War. [1861 to ??]
She had beautiful, very long, red hair and it was still very red, very few grey hairs, until she died in 1938 very tragically. She was burned severly by fire in the farm home. She & Helen [daughter in law] had been cooking food to take to Quincy the next day for sale at the HOME BUREAU. She was filling the kerosine tank on the stove when the fire in a wood stove near by caught her on fire. She did not last through the night. She worked a short time at the Soldiers & Sailors Home in Quincy in 1931.

      10. Theodore Abram Hollembeak, born 20 Jun 1864 in Richfield, IL; died 01 May 1944 in Quincy, IL New Payson Cemetery. He was the son of John Wm. Hollembeak and Hannah Lewton. He married 11. Frances May Snodgrass 09 Nov 1886 in New London, Ralls Co. MO.

      11. Frances May Snodgrass, born 22 Aug 1865 in New london Fallls MO; died 04 Aug 1925 in Colby, KS. She was the daughter of William Henry [Harrison] Snodgrass and Sarah Ann "Sally" McMullen.

Notes for Theodore Abram Hollembeak:
T.A. Hollembeak, because of his prize team of horses , was chosen by the welcoming committee in Hannibal, Mo. to meet Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) at the train depot when he visited his hometown
on May 29, 1902. An account of the visit appears in the St. Louis Post Dispatch of May 30, 1902.
I could find no mention of Hollembeak in the paper of that day, but was told several times by Abe Hollembeak (my grandfather) that he was there and this was confirmed by his daughter Alice - my mother. Jack Grove
