I am researching the Blochowiak, Blohowiak, Blockwick, Blohoweak, Blohoviak, Bloch, Block Also Saindon, Castagner, Dionne, and Jarvis Surnames. BLOCHOWIAK's As of 11/2000 Frank L. Blochowiak born in Sept of 1829 in Poland and Died in Eaton, WI 1-14-1907, he was married to Barbara Paukoski Barbara was born in 1836 in Poland and died in Eaton WI. 6-1930 Frank immigrated to the USA from Brudzyn, Poland on May 31, 1871 through Bremen, Germany on board the ship “Elena” thru the Port of New York. Barbara immigrated to the USA from Brudzyn, Poland on July 13, 1872 through Bremen, Germany on board the ship “ Celestial Empire” with (3) oldest children: Valentine (8), Mary (6) and Anton (9 months) Bremen, Germany - A majority of Europeans passed through Bremen after the 1830's. Unfortunately, virtually all of the departure lists for Bremen have been destroyed. In 1875, the destruction of the Bremen lists for 1832 to 1872 was authorized by the government to make file space available. They then continued to destroy lists each year, preserving only the lists for the current and two most recent years. This continued until 1909, when they began to again preserve the emigration records. However, all of these remaining records were destroyed during bombing in World War II. (Copies of some of these records have been found and and efforts are continuing to find others; e.g., the archives of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce contain what appears to be an incomplete set of duplicate passenger lists for the years of 1922-1939.) It is rumored that the family settled in Pennsylvania for a brief time, but Barbara did not like the way the thunder rolled through the mountain valleys so they moved on to Wisconsin. Frank & Barbara lived in Bay View, Wi (South Milwaukee) until 1876 the year Anna Blochowiak-Pahuki was born. They then settled in the Township of Eaton, just outside of Poland, Wi. on Buyarski Rd. (East of Green Bay) between 7/1877 and 5/1879 when youngest son Stanley Blohowiak was born. Both Frank & Barbra are buried at SS Cyril and Methodius in Poland, Wi. Brother and/or Cousin George Blohowiak’s Homestead ˝ mile south of Franks, Brother and/or cousin Valentine’s was just east of Poland and Brother and/or cousin Stanley Blohowiak’s homestead was in the Pulaski(Pittsfield)area just NW of Green Bay. George & Stanley's graves have not been located. Valentine and wife Mary are buried at SS Cyril and Methodius in Poland, Wi CHILDREN of Frank L. and Barbara (1) Valentine Blochowiak (Blohowiak)(2) was born in Brudzyn, Poland in 1867 and Married Joanna Proba (Pryba) they had one child Albert Blohowiak, Joanna died during childbirth of a second son in 1888. She is buried in Pine Grove/Glenmore, Wi. at Holly Trinity Cemetary. Valentine & Bernice are buried in Pine Grove/Glenmore, Wi. at Holly Trinity Cemetary. Valentine then married Bernice Rozmarynowski they had the following children: Sylvester Blochowiak (3) Catholic Nun (sister)(3) Frank Blochowiak (3) Stanley Blochowiak (3) Martha Blochowiak (3) Rose Blochowiak (3) John Blochowiak (3) Sophia Blochowiak (3) Harry Blochowiak (3) (2) Mary Blochowiak (2) was born in Brudzyn,Poland, in 1869 She married John Roznowski. They are buried at St. Cyril's in Poland, Wi. They had the following children: Joseph Roznowski (3) John Roznowski (3) Bill Roznowski (3) (3)Anton (1871-1889)Born in Bremen, Germany died in Wisconsin at the age of 16. His grave has not been located. (4)Michael Blohowiak (2) was born in 1874 in Bay View Wi. Married Mary (_) (2) in 1893 and had the following children: Frank Blohowiak (3) Pete Blohowiak (3) Joe Blohowiak (3) Julie (nun)(3) Fridoline (nun)(3) Ann Blohowiak (3) Paul Blohowiak (3) Tom Blohowiak (Blockwick) (3) (5) Anna Blochowiak (2) was born 6-4-1876 in Bay View, Wi Married Pauvel Pahucki (2) B1893 She Died 5-3-1930 in Mishawka, Indiana Anna is buried in Mishawka, P |
