Notes for Isaac Klees:
Isaac Klees was the 11th son of George SR, and Elizabeth Rhodes Klees. He was described as coming from the section around Muncy, PA. He came to Danville and worked in the plow works in the days when they hammered out a moldboard on an anvil by hand. The work proved to be too strenuous for him as right arm gave out. From Danville he went to a section around Girardville and Frackville and worked in the timber business. Here he boarded with James Stephens, who is said to be the original founder of Frackville, PA. Here he met and married Ann Eleanor Stephens, who was the daughter of James. The young couple lived with the Stephens for a while and their first child, a son named Benjamin Franklin Klees, was born to them there. About 1837 the family moved to Minersville and Isaac was engaged an hauling timber Minersville to Pottsville. In the spring of 1850 they moved to a farm near Fountain Springs which was known as the Banker's farm. Here an infant daughter, either Rachel or Louisa lost her life by falling into a stream of water and drowning. The other child had died previously in Minersville. From the Banker's farm they moved about 1 & 1/2 miles to the west to the Nechter's farm, which was located about 2 miles east of Gordon and 2 southeast of Fountain Springs. In 1859 the family moved into Fountain Spring and lived with Jacob Stephens, who was a brother of Ann Eleanor. Later the family moved to Girardville and this is where Isaac died.
