Notes for Sr. George Bloom:
George was baptized by Rev Nicholas Steinbacher S.J. at the Immaculacte Conception Church in Bastress, Lycoming Co., PA on August 28, 1842. Sponsors were: George Sewald & Catherina Sechular.

He was originally Catholic but became Presbyterian when his son George Henry was dying and the local Catholic priest refused to come to their home to give him the last rites.

Lived in Armstrong Twp., Lycoming Co., PA at time of marriage.

Obituary
George Bloom, residing at 955 Hepburn Street, died Monday morning (June 10, 1912) after a long illness. He was a veteran of the Civil War with a service record of almost five years, and a member of Reno Post; was well known in the community, and left three sons and three daughters, of whom Eugene B. C. Bloom and Mrs. C. W. Walize reside in Williamsport. For twelve years Mr. Bloom had worked at the Rishel Furniture Factory. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. William C. Hogg.
