Find Family

* The Blythe Family of Indianapolis, IN*

Updated January 2, 2002

I have been researching the Blythe family for only a brief time, but already I have found much information. My father's family comes from Kettle Creek, Kentucky, in Cumberland County. This is the primary location for most of my paternal ancestry following the start of the nineteenth century. I owe much of what I have learned to the work of Pat Brigance. She has been extremely helpful in sharing her many years of research on the Blythe family history. I also owe a great debt to Ben Bailey who helped establish some tough connections in my "working" family line.

As many of you interested in Blythe history are aware, the most distant Blythe ancestors appear in American records in the mid-seventeen hundreds. Unfortunately it's difficult to determine where these men and women were prior to their lives in this country. It is my hope, however, that someone will find the documentation to guide us to the past of a man named William Blythe.
