The Beyer and Keeten families were raised in Nebraska and Kansas in the late 1800/early 1900s and were joined on November 4, 1942 when Albert Ewalt Beyer, Jr. (born 1924) married Benetta Adelene Keeten (1926-1975), who are my parents.
Surnames of B's ancestors were Swisher, Bishop, Gilliam (maternal) and Cotrill, Hammond (paternal). Surnames of Al's ancestors were Osterheil, Boerlin, Hunger, (paternal) and Ackley, Shelton, Duggan (maternal).

Paul Albin Beyer came from Steinbach, Germany in 1881 at the age of 18 years and died in 1928. His parents were Friedrich August Albin Beyer (1834-1915) and Amalie Matilde Hunger (1841-1908). His wife, Alexandria Osterheil (daugter of Israel Osterheil and Esther Boerlin) was born in 1871 in Omaha, Nebraska and died in 1937. They were married in 1890 in Kearney, Nebraska and both are buried in the Caldwell Cemetary, Lyman, Nebraska. Their son, Albert, Sr. (1895-1977) married Esther Georgia Viola Amy May Ackley (1898-1977) on March 8, 1916 - his 21st birthday. Esther's parents were Leroy Eli Ackley (?-disappeared in 1914) and Katherine Sarah Shelton (1881-1965) for whom I am named. They were married September, 1897 in Anselmo, Nebraska. Leroy's parents were Joseph and Hannah, but I know nothing else of them. Katherine's parents were Martin Van Buren Shelton (1839-1926) and Melissa Duggan (1850-1892).

John and Eliza Gilliam were parents of Laura E.(1846-1874) who married John M. Bishop (1831-1894) in 1864 and were the parents of Eliza Jane(1869-1941) who married Henry Galen Swisher (1852-1920) in 1887 and were the parents of Gladys Corrine (1907-1997) who married Everett Wesley Keeten (1904-1968) in 1925 and were the parents of B. Thomas Keeten and Jane Cotrill had a son James Elmer about 1871 and who married Clara Hammond and disappeared some time about 1904 after her death in California. They left 5 boys, one of which was Everett.

I am looking for family connections. I currently have seven generations and would like to expand back farther. I would also like any information on those that have disappeared - Leroy Eli Ackley (@ winter of 1914) and James Elmer Keeten (after 1904)

Also, please contact me if you think we may be related and we can compare branches.
