BIOGRAPHY
The history of the Bobbitt family in the U.S.A. starts with William
Bobbitt, born in the Glamorganshire area of Wales.
William Bobbit's Grave site is belive to be under the old Norfolk and
Western Railroad Station in Petersburg,Virginia. The "Ferry Chaple"
was a ferry boat area use to ferry people across the Appomattox River,
there was a Chaple near the ferry used for a place of worship with a
cemetery surrounding it. This is where William Bobbitt and his wife
worshiped.
On October 27, 1673 William Bobbitt received a land grant from the King of England for 100 acres and this was the start of the Southern branch of the Bobbitt's in America.
The land was in Bristol Parish, Charles City County, Virginia.
Bristol Parish was established in 1642.
Prince George County was formed in 1703 from Charles City County
The land is in the present day Hopewell, Prince George County, Virginia.
