Notes for STEPHEN BOBBITT:
Stephen was the first Bobbitt to live in what is now West Virginia and at one time owned more then 2000 acres along the Coal River. He was listed on the tax lists of Kanawha County, but not after that. It is belive he had one son named Henry, and that he left the area and moved to Pennsylvania, nothing else is known about him at this time.

Captain Joseph Anderson (1816-1889) was an officer in the Union Army,
Jourena Bobbitt was from a strictly Confederate family.
This caused a split in the family that never healed.
Jourena was buried in the Anderson Cemetery just outside Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia and her grave is marked with a large marble monument.
