BIOGRAPHY
Benjamin Franklin Bobbitt gave the land on which Dyer, Gibson County,
Tennessee is located. The town was at first called Bobbittville, but
in 1858 the name was changed to Dyer. For more on the history of B.F.

BIOGRAPHY
Harrison Bobbitt died at the battle of Perryville, Kentucky and was
buried in a soldier's grave. Harrison enlisted in Co. "A" of 38 Reg.
Indiana Volunteers on Sept. 17, 1861. He was killed a year and two
months later. His Body was never brought home. Leander Free and
William White, of that same company, notified the parents when they
came home on leave. Harrison was shot though the neck and died the
day he was wounded. In 1895 his Mother applied for a Pension for
Dependent Mothers and was given a pension until Feb. 1900.
He was killed in the battle of Chaplain Hills, Perryville, Ky.
