Notes for ALFONZO IZA URIAH BOBBITT:
A story that is told, that Alfonzo was the local sheriff and one day when he was Electioneering, standing on a platform, he said something about his opponent that the opponent did not like, This guy jumped on the platform raised his hands with a knife in and as if to stab Alfonzo. Alfonzo's brother A.T.L. already on the platform, setting near by saw the man about to stab Alfonzo. drew his trusty .44, stuck it in the mans rear and shot him.
A.T.L. thinking he had killed the man and would be in much trouble, took off for Texas where his oldest brother (Roderick Robert Bobbitt had settled. A.T.L. L. was counted in the 1850 census as being in R.R. Bobbitt's household.
