| Well, Ellis Island's web site cannot provide information before 1892, and according to the 1920 U.S. Census my Great-Grandfather Harry (real name Herschel, perhaps) arrived in 1890 from Russia. I did locate the record of his brother Paul's (Peizach) arrival in 1914 with his wife and daughter from Kipos, Russia. But I don't know if that's where he was born or just the last place he lived before coming to the U.S. Paul spelled his last name Bobisch at Ellis Island, so I assume that is the original spelling. Anybody out there think you might be related? Let's compare notes. You probably have more than me as I am new to this kind of research. Thanks for your help. |
