Person and his Wife Sarah their distributive Share of the Slaves belonging to the estate of Wm. W. Boddie decd which will be found named in Lot No. 3 it being drawn by them, and valued to $2575. Which leaves a balance due them from Wm. W. Boddie decd to the heirs of Wm. W. Boddie decd of thirty three dollars and twenty five cents, which make their distributive Share according to valuation $2608.25. All of which is respectfully Submitted. F. M. Arrington [138] 84 - We the undersigned Commissioners appointed at the last Term of Nash County Court and in obediance to an order issued proceeded after being duly sworn to divide the negroes belonging to the estate of Asail Vick decd at his late residence according to the directions in last will and Testament among the diferant lgatees On the 2nd day of Jay 1857 - and respectfully submit the following report. The whol number of Slaves given in common in the will was Forty five whose names and valuation appear below in different Lots numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 - and valued together at Twenty four hundred and Seventy Six dollars there were four other Slaves which had been advanced previous to the death of Testater and charged in his will to George Ricks and James B.H. Boddie which said four Slaves were valued by us at Twenty four hundred dollars altogether as will appear in Lots No. 7 & 8. The forty-five Slaves above mentioned being valued at Twenty Six Thousand eight hundred and Seventy Six dollars were added to the amount of One hundred dollars charged to James B.H. Boddie and eight Hundred dollars charged to George Ricks in the will which made the amount of Twenty Seven Thousand Seven Hundred & Seventy Six dollars to be divided into eight different lots made each heir entitled as follows: Lot No. 1 composed of Jack valued at $1110, Kate & five children viz Willie, Suik, ben & Tom, Luvenia valued at $2050 - and Matilda at $375 - in all Lot no. 1 $3525. Thirty five hundred and Twenty five dollars and Lot no. 2 composed of Lewis valued at $1100 - Silva &child Leah together valued at $600, Lucy valued at four hundred & Twenty five dollars, Hilliard at $600 and Wallace valued at $750 - Lot no. 2 being in all Thirty four hundred & Seventy five dollars. [139] Lot no. 3 composed of Mose valued at $1050, Cherry a& her three children Janna, John & infant not named (together valued at $1250) - Isabella $425 and Dawson $725 - in all Lot no. 3 Thirty four Hundred and fifty dollars and Lot no. 4 composed of George valued at $1150 - Bandy & her two children viz Doctor & Lawrence together at $1150 - Prisey at $675 - Sarah $425, Charlotte valued at $25, in all Lot no. 4 Thirty four Hundred & Twenty Six dollars. Lot no. 5 composed of Chester valued at $1100 - Amy and her three children viz Allen, Tempy & Burton together valued at $1550 - Neverson at $500 - Jim at $350 - in all Lot no. 5 Thirty five Hundred dollars. Lot no. 6 composed of Cindy valued at $825 - Sam valued at $1000 - Della $925 - Venus $725 - in all Lot no. 6 Thirty four Hundred and Seventy five dollars. Lot no. 7 assigned to George Ricks composed of Two Negroes valued at $1200 which said bequest were to George Ricks before his death by Testater Asail Visk decd but charged to him in his will to be accounted for by him said Ricks in this division also the sum of Eight hundred dollars. Advanced and charged to him in Same way by said Testator to give writ Isaac valued at $1000 and cherry valued at $500 - making Lot no. 7 Thirty five Hundred dollars. Lot No. 8 assigned to James B. H. Boddie just as two negroes valued at $1200 advanced and given to said James B.H. Boddie just as Two negroes above mention were advanced & given to George Ricks also the sum of one Hundred dollars advanced and charged in the same way to Said Jas B.H. Boddie by Said Testator together with Philis valued $425, Ellis at $600, Hassell at $600, and Elsick valued at $500 - making lot no. 8 Thirty four Hundred and Twenty five dollars. [140] Besides the last two mentioned Legatees George Ricks and Jas B.H. Boddie there were only two others of age twenty one vz; Benjamin L. Vick & Richard T. Vick. Lot no. 4 composed of George, Bandy, Doctor, Lawrence, Prisey, Sarah & Charlotte valued at Thirty four Hundred & Twenty Six dolars were assigned to Benjamin L. Vick and lot no. 6 composed of Cindy, Sam, Dellah, Venus and valued at Thirty four Hundred & Seventy five dollars was assigned to Richard T. Vick the other heirs being minors the remaining lots nos. 1, 2, 3, & 5 & valued all together at Thirteen Thousand and Nine Hundred & fifty dollars were not alloted to Said minor children in Severality but are to be Held by them as tenants in common but as above mentioned Lots No. 1, 2, 3 & 5 assigned to the above mentioned minors as tenants in common being valued at Thirteen Thousand nine Hundred & fifty dollars which exceeds the amount of four distributive shares Sixty Two dollars and lot No. 6 assigned to Richard T. Vick being valued at Thirty four Hundred & Twenty five dollars more than his equal share and Lot No. 7 assigned to George Ricks valued at Thirty five hundred dollars being Twenty eight dollars more than his equal share and lot no. 8 having been assigned James B.H. Boddie valued at Thirty four Hundred & Twenty five dollars being forty seven dollars less than his equal share and lot no. 4 assigned to Benjamin L. Vick and valued at Thirty four Hundred & Twenty six dollars being forty six dollarrs less than his equal share, now the said Geo Ricks is to pay the above mentioned sum of Twenty eight dollars & the said R.T. Vick [141] is to pay the Said sum of Three dollars to Benja L. Vick who is also to receive the sum of Fifteen dollars from the said minors which lot no. 4 assigned to him makes his full share & the said James B. H.
