| I started researching my family out of curiosity, but the more I discovered, the more I wanted to know. My ideas and dreams began to grow and form. I went from finding just my immediate family to trying to locate or at least identify all of the Boddie Slaves (My Ancestors) along with all of the Arrington Slaves (My Ancestors). NO SMALL TASK. "MY" family tree is listed below. I am a direct descendant of Jessie/Virginia Arrington and Jno./Lucy Boddie. FOR MORE DETAIL ON THESE FAMILIES GO TO: http://communities.msn.com/MeettheBoddies OR click on the link below. I've involved my children in the research. Every day one of them asks me "if I've found any more ancestors?" Theyre most impressed by the fact that if most of these people were still alive, they would be OLD. It also amazes them that not so very long ago they had family that was bound in slavery. It is also important to them they have many races included in their family now. I believe an account of our heritage is something that will be preserved by my children and they will continue to pass it on. |
