Pennsylvania Dutch Moved to Wisconsin. One son a banker at Kerney Ne.

The children were all born at Whitewater, Wisconsin: the oldest on a farm and the youngest in town.
Grandfather Dake died when home on sick leave, of Yellow Fever contracted in the army. His sons Henry and Charles were also soldiers in the Civil war. He was of Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry, and his father died when Aunt Milly (Permelia) was a little girl.
Grandmother Dake's maiden name was Phoebe York and she was born in Stonington Connecticut. Her father had a large dairy ranch at Buffalo New York when she was a little girl. There was a large family; six brothers and several sisters. The brothers were all cabinet makers and contractors and they were second cousins of Aaron Burr, vice-president of the United States at one time. The York family all went to Wisconsin to live.

On July 6, 1870, Grandmother Dake married Joseph Brierly. They moved to Hancock, Minnesota about 1876. Mr. Brierly went back to England on a visit to a wealthy aunt who was very ill and died while he was there.
