Bogard/Bogart surnames The Five brothers who came to Northern Mississippi
in 1830-1850 James M, b. 1792, William, b. 1794
Abraham and John J., b. 1798 Alexander, b. 1806
Particularly James Bogard 1792/1857 and his descendents
Joel H, Jacob S, John W ,Martin and Martha Jane

James and his brothers were the sons of Jacob Bogard (1762-1820) and Susannna Board , born in Virginia and migrated to Kentucky and then onto Middle Tennessee, Giles County and Maury Counties.


These brothers moved onto North Mississippi by 1850, James M. Bogard(1792-1857) settled in Tippah,County, William Bogard (1794-1863) settled in Marshall Co., Abraham Bogard(1798-1859) settled in Marshall Co. John Johnson Bogard,(1798-1860's)settled in Lafayette Co. and Alexander A.Bogard (1806-1870)settled in Marshall Co.

The two Daughters Mary Polly Bogard and Susannah Bogard also moved to North Mississippi Mary Polly ,married Thomas W Tidwell amd settled in Lafayete Co., Ms where she and Thomas raised a large family. Susannah (Susan)Bogard married R D Jones and settled in Marshall Co. where they raised their Family.

James and his brothers were the grandsons of Abram Bogard b. 1717 in New Jersey and he passed away in the County Poor house at Maury County, Tn. in 1833 at the age of 118 years and 4days young

Brick Wall is the location of Burial site/sites for Abram and his son Jacob and their spouses both Rebecca McDaniel Bogard wife of Abram and Susanna Board Bogard, wife of Jacob Bogard

Also have hit another Brick wall as to location of burial site for James M Bogard's wife Annas Harris(1812-1865) and their youngest son Martin Bogard (1851-1868)
