Happy Spring to all our Litt Cousins and Fellow Genealogists!

As my family history page evolves, I have tried to make it interesting and informative by including stories, photos and related links. I would be very happy to post any stories or photographs you would like to share. Just forward them to me.

To date, our family tree has grown to over 6,000 names!!! Incredible...

My acknowledgement and thanks to all of you who have been kind enough to share your information with me. I will continue to do what I can to contribute back.

I am still researching information for the following surnames:

ANGLEBRANDT (Angebrandt), BECHER (Beecher), DILLON, FRANZEL, GIBBARD, GRUBER (Gruver, Grover, Groover), HOEFLER, EISENECKER (Iseneker or Eisenecker), LE VASSEUR, LITT, MATUSZAK, NICHOLS, PETERS, REINELT, REYNOLDS, SHAGENA (Schagene, Shagene), and TRATHEN.

The oldest known Litt ancestor is currently Peter Litt. He immigrated from ALSACE, FRANCE to western Canada with his descendants settling in WATERLOO, PERTH and GREY COUNTIES, ONTARIO, CANADA. From there, some of the Litts crossed Lake Huron to the United States through Sanilac County, Michigan, homesteading originally near the town of Argyle. Today, Litt descendants still reside in Ontario, Canada. Primary residence in the U.S. is still Michigan, though descendants have been found in Texas, Colorado, Florida, and Illinois.

I am also researching:
BOHAN (from Iowa)
ERICKSON (from Windom, Minnesota)

Types of information I am collecting:

- Birth, marriage, and death dates
- Maiden names of spouses
- General medical data, especially known hereditary conditions
- Education level
- General occupation or work
- Military service record, war history, medals or citations
- Obituaries
- PHOTOGRAPHS (Please scan me some of your favorite)

I will be happy to share what information I currently have, as well as the final product.
