John Edward Bush, age 62 years, died Friday, March 24, 2000 in his home.

He was born September 30, 1937 to the late Edward J. and Anna (LaForge) Bush in Bay City and has resided in Reese most of his life. John was a shipping clerk for General Motors Corporation for 30 years and retired in 1991. He was a member of St. Norbert Parish in Munger and was also a veteran of the U. S. Army serving his country overseas.

John respected all living things and loved being outdoors with nature. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening and ice fishing.

He is survived by his wife, the former Carol A. LeVasseur, whom he married June 30, 1962 in St. James Church; their two children: John (Stephanie) Bush, Jr. of PA and Lisa (Terry) Bekemeier of Munger; four grandchildren: Benjamin, Samuel, Caleb and Abigayil; his sister, Lois Cwiklinski of Bay City; his brother, Edward (Sue) Bush of Clarkston, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Norbert Church, Munger. John will lie in state in church Tuesday after 9:00 A.M. Rev. William J. Gruden will preside and entombment will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum with military rites under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. The Vigil Prayer Service will be held Monday at 7:30 P.M. in the Trahan Chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Norbert's Parish or the American Cancer Society. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 5:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. and Monday from 2 to 5 and 6:30 until 8:30 P.M. at the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. W. A.
