Esther Jane Fussell was a strong woman with a good mind who ran a large farm and kept up with the books and oversaw all workers on the farm and sawmill. Her husband Rev. John Wesley Boland was out looking after his church work a great deal of the time, but helped her out when he could. He was a large and vigorous man and he helped Esther Jane out when ever he could.
