I am researching several lines of my family. BOLAND, HAMER, GOINS, CUMMINGS, CROUCH, FUSSELL, STRANGE, BARNES, BELL and GOODSON. My Boland great, great, grandfather was David Boland:
DAVID BOLAND (1798-1872) AND FAMILY
David Boland is the link to our (BRADLEY RAYMOND BOLAND, SR.) family of our Revolutionary War ancestor Johann Heinrich (John) Bohland (Boland). DAVID BOLAND, one of the seven sons of and listed as the sixth c!o John Boland, and the fifth child by his second wife, Miss (Anna Catherine) Feltman; He was b. in 1798 near Little Mountain in Lexington Co., now Newberry Co., S. C. According to censuses, David died between 1860 and 1880.(He died in 1872) He married Mary Cedelle Jones before 1824, date and place of marriage unknown. She was born in 1806, in Orange Co., N. C. and died after 1880. Both are believed to have died and been buried at Bremond, Robertson Co., Tex., as that is where David and Mary C. are listed in the 1860 Census; Mary C. Boland is listed in the 1880 Census in said county as a widow in the home of her son-in-law, David Pressley, and her daughter, Martha J. Mary Cedelle Jones was of English descent and both of her parents were born in North Carolina.

[All in One Family Tree; FTW]

David Boland was the son of Johann Heinrich Bohland (John H. Boland) and Miss Feltman (Anna Catherine Feltman), who was the second wife of Johann H. Boland. He was born in 1798, and Bef. 1824 he was married to Mary Cedelle Jones who was born in Orange County, North Carolina, and they were living in Gwinett County, Georgia. It is not known if they married in South Carolina or Georgia. They had a son born 12 July 1824, named John Wesley Boland their first born. He was born in Gwinnett, County, Georgia. David Boland was lucky and in the land Lottery of 1832 he drew a winning lot of land he drew 160 acre grant in the original Cherokee County Georgia. (David Boland of Hines Militia District, Coweta County, Georgia, drew land lot Number 238 in the 13th District. Fourth Section of original Cherokee, now Walker County.) David had moved to Fayette Co., Ga. by or before 1839, as his son Josiah Asbury was born in said County in 1839. He had moved to Columbus, Ga. by 1840. He is listed in the 1840 census in both Fayette and Muscogee, Counties; the former being enumerated before he left from Fayette, Co., and the latter being enumerated after he moved to Muscogee, Co. David was a farmer and also a Ferryman on the Chattahoochee River at Columbus,Ga. he is said to have operated a ferry boat across the river at Columbus. By 1860 we find David and Mary Cedelle and their two youngest daughters Martha J. and Nancy Ann living at Bremond, Robertson, Co., Texas. David and his family are listed in the 1860 census, Robertson Co., Texas Post Office Owensville; enumerated 9 July 1860,Their son William Jason Boland was already living there, and that is where their son Josiah and his family moved to when they left Columbus, Ga. in 1859. It is possible that David and these members of his family moved to Texas at the same time. They were living at Bremond, Tex. in 1860 and their daughters Martha J. and Nancy Ann were students at Bremond. The 1860 US Census, Robertson, Co. Texas; Post Office, Owensville; enumerated 9 July1860, written page 45, Family No. 325, has the following entry:

David Boland, age 62, farmer, born South Carolina
Mary Boland, age 54, housekeeper, born North Carolina
Martha J. Boland, age 18, student, born Georgia
Nancy A. Boland, age 15, student, born Georgia

Mary C. Boland, a widow age 74, was listed in the home of her son-in-law David Pressley and her daughter Martha J. (Mattie) Boland Bennett Pressley in the 1880 census, Robertson Co., Texas, City of Bremond, written page 5, Family No. 53,. Neither David or his wife Mary C. Boland was listed in the 1870 Robertson Co., Tex. Census. It is believed that David died towards the end of the 1870s possibly around 1876. Mary C. Boland is believed to have died some
