I am researching all lines of my family. Branches originate from Poland and Lithuania. Focusing primarily on Lomza, Poland. Family names include Bonchek (Baczek), Allen (Yellin, Jelen, Elyan, Elling), Fisherman (Fiserman), Dinerstein, and Meltzer. In the USA family lived in the NYC area and Cleveland OH.
My current research centers around Jacob Yellin and Eva Donn. She was from the area around Riga Latvia. She went to London and married Jacob there. Eva's sister went to South Africa, from my grandmother I received these two wedding pictures taken in Cape Town, South Africa. I also have recent information from Latvia that give the spelling of the name as Don without the second N. Thanks to a listing on JewishGen I have found cousins in So. Africa and Israel related to both couples in the photos as well as Alec and Thelma themselves. I have just recently been in contact with cousins in Australia, Canada and Israel. The current search is for the Don family in Chicago. Perhaps descendants of Edward Don?
I have included a genealogy report here (Descendants of Yehuda Jelen) that is in a continuing state of flux and constantly being updated, but I wanted to show the Don(n) information that we have. See Descendants of Mikhel below.
I am recently married and have begun research into the families of my new husband. These include Graham and Gill from Iowa and Illinois.
