I am researching the Pike family. William Jefferson Pike was born in New Troy (Berrien county) Michigan in 1841. His parents died when he was 5 or 6 years old. On the 27th day of May 1848 Isaac O. Adams was appointed guardian of William and his older sister Eliza. According to the guardianship papers his fathers name was Henry Pike, his mothers name is not mentioned. He was living with a family named Balch at the time of 1850 census. I don't know where his parents were before they went to Michigan. William went to Laporte county Indiana and in 1868 married Mary Caroline Bennett. They had 8 children, 4 sons: William Henry-James C.-Lorren Cleve-Orrin Waldo and 4 daughters: Evaline(Adelia Eva)-Etta Estella-Alice Frances-Hattie C.. |
