WELCOME!
Most Recently had to delete several trees and files due to the inability of Family Tree Maker to privatize my uploads any longer. Will continue to try and work this out.

*** As a result, if you are unable to find a tree related to a surname you found here and would like me to search my family files for you, just email me. I will be happy to do so!!

It has been so wonderful communicating with each new relative I hear from. Hope you have fun viewing the pictures, trees, and family files below.

At present, this site does not allow for pictures to be sorted or organized. My apologies. However, descriptions of each picture will hopefully help guide you. Enjoy! --Candice : )

~BOOTHOUNIS- From Sparta (Skoura), GREECE. Descendants are BOOTH and CANELIAS. My GGG Grandparents: Georgios Panayioutou Boothounis and Ioanna Niangou.

~BOSWELL-All of Mississippi. Have not researched this line yet.

~BULLARD-Descendants of (1)Wylie McAllister Bullard b. TN d. TX, (2)Sebel Bullard Moore of Texas.

~CACAS-Descendants of Chris Cacas b. Sparta, Greece in 1892 came to America in 1901 and moved to Kaufman County, Texas in 1916.

~CANELIAS-Descendants of Pete Canelias, b. Sparta, Greece. Came to America about 1892 and lived in Dallas, Texas 2 years before moving to Terrell,Texas.

~DRURY-Descendants of Drieu the Norman b. abt 1045. Traveled to England with William the Conqueror. In 1644 his descendant John Drury was born in Virginia. In 1824, the Drury's moved into North Carolina and by 1849 they were in Mississippi where they remained up through the 20th century.

~HARDIN-Descendants from (1)Hiram Hardin b. North Carolina moved to Navarro County, Texas. His son,(2)Thomas Jefferson Hardin, His daughter,(3)Hulda Alice Hardin, (4)Era Gladys Smith

~LEATHERWOOD-Descendants from (1)Vincent Leatherwood b.1913 in Tenn or South Carolina. (2)Norris Elihu Leatherwood b. 1859 in Tenn. who moved to Texas and died in Dallas. (3)Walter Murphy Leatherwood of VanZandt Co and later, Kaufman Co, TX.

~MCMAHON,EN,AN-Descendants of (1)James McMahon b. abt 1832 in Alabama. (2)John Stephenson McMahen b. in AL,later moved to Kaufman Co, TX.

~MOORE-Descendants of Walter Maddison Moore b. abt 1871. Our Moore's are from Smith and Kaufman Counties of Texas.

~POWELL-From Mississippi. Have begun limited research on this line.

~REEVES-Descendants of Charlie Reeves (KY). No research yet.

~SMITH-Descendants of Moses Kingsley Smith b. 1844 in Oxford, MS d. in TN. His son, John Cemer Smith later moved to TX and m. Hulda Alice HARDIN.

    -me in Aruba. its 95 degrees and i'm decked out in full uniform with the addition of a hot, black tac-vest. the vest carried m14 amo, 9mm and 9mm amo, a 1000yrd flashlight, baton, knife, investigation mirror, and OC spray....not to mention the entire back of the vest was filled with drinking water (it was heavy!!). the gun in my left hand is my m14. so that's me looking tough in a vest that doesn't even fit. macho macho me! love you all! >Lo

    Marriage of Irene Canelias and Sam Georges in Terrell Texas on 28 June 1925. Bride's father, Pete Canelias, is short, dark man to right of bride. This is the only picture I have of him. Photo includes friends and family, including mother, siblings, and nephews of the bride. Likely, the frontmost man and woman to the left of picture may be Sam's (groom's) parents. Small boy far left edge of photo is my grandfather, Tom Cacas. His mom (my G.Grandmother and one of bride's sisters) is woman located one row back, just between the bride and groom.

    Stella Canelias was born in Sparta, Greece in 1875 with the Greek name: Efstathia Georgiou Boothounis. She married Pete Canelias while in Greece and had two children there before making the move to America. Once in Terrell, Texas, she had four more children and lived in Terrell until her death in 1962. She was known to her grandkids as "Grandma Pete".

    This is the ship that brought over my great-great-grandmother(Stella Booth Canelias) from Greece with her two babies at the time: My great-grandmother, Paro Canelias (Age 4 yrs 8 mo) and her little sister (Panuca). They arrived at Ellis Island on May 26, 1903 and had departed from Naples, Italy. The ship was built in 1889 and later scrapped in 1929. It was 363 ft long; 42 ft wide; service speed was 12 knots; and carried 1175 passengers (25 1st class, 1150 3rd class). Photo and information provided by AFIHC at www.ellisislandrecords.org.
