My geneology interest was sparked by my American history teacher, Mr. Ken McDaris,in an assignment given on heritage. At the time, many of my father's, Evert W. Stacy, Sr.,as well as my mother's (Pearl Piersall) older relatives were still alive. To my dispare, I did not take full advantage of the "natural resources" which were at hand on a rich family history. As well, my mother had a wonderful, detailed memory of "everything" and it too was never fully utilized. As I gathered my information for the history assignment, I found, as most novices do, that it is amazing the contridicting information you may get even from siblings in the same family. As we all know from the census, family members, vary information on consecutive census years....a fact that I find facinating! An example age, states of birth for self, parents, children. Lack of "at hand" resources, i.e., the internet and sites like Ancestry.com, slowed the dream of collecting extensive family data. I love the excitment of finding out that my life travels have taken me to the same places they traveled without knowning it at the time. My thanks to Eliza B. Hopkins (daughter of Cynthia Louise Stacy Hopkins Davis) and Eula Wooton Jones (of the Wooton clan). Both are experienced geneology explorers and have shared readily. The real treat has been the connections they have passed on who shares family history, but are not family. These have been especially helpful with the Piersall and Stacy/Eden families. Other surnames which I am researching for my children are the Atchley, Lauterbach/Winters, Anstine/Kackley, Bottom/Bryan/Bryant. Any help would be appreciated. Happy Hunting!!!!!
