Halliburton fought at the battle of Shiloh. B. Halliburton has not been found on the rolls, on file in this office, \par which partially cover period from June 30, 1862, \par to February 29, 1864, of Company K, 47th Tennessee Infantry, CSA and no record has been \par found of the service, capture of parole of a man of this name and organization. \par \par The Union records of prisoners of war show that one William B. Halliburton, private, Company i , 12th Tennessee Infantry, \par CSA was captured June 27, 1864, at Marietta, Georgia, and was released on taking oath of allegiance at Camp Douglad, Illinois, \par May 12, 1865. The 12th and the 47th Tennessee Infantry served as one command at one period. No. further record of this man has been found. \par It was signed by the Adjutant General (and I cannot read his signature) \par \par Other copies of information contained in this packet of information include his (I guess it would be called his pay records, \par for lack of a better word for it) and they list his as Halliburton, W. B., Co. C, (Russell's) Cavalry. (Confederate) he was a Private. \par One is for March and April 1864 (There were two with those dates) and another on for May & June, 1864. He hadn't been paid \par for that last one and all three list him as being enlisted for 3 years. One stated that he had a Sorrel Horse, valued at $700.00. \par The other information is Mary F. Halliburton's Widow's Indigent Pension Application. In it there is other information. \par He is listed as having been in K, 47 Tennessee Infantry. One was for questions of Mary in regards to W. B. and she stated \par that he was captured at Dead Angle and that he was carried to prison at Camp Douglas, Chicago and from there he was paroled May, 1865. \par \par Another application is for question of Witnesses. \par A. man by the name of W. E. Orr stated that he had known W. B. Halliburton for 65 years or more. He stated that W. B. Halliburton \par was in Co. K, 47th Tennessee Infantry Reg at Shiloh on April 6, 1862 and there are a couple of words next that I cannot read. \par He goes on to state he he knew him as a soldier and that Trenton (Tennessee) in the fall of '61. \par Another man by the name of J. H. Thomas also stated that he knew W. B. Halliburton at Camp Douglas, but that he had \par not seen him since he, (Thomas) had been at Shelbyville. \par W. E. Orr, states that W. B. Halliburton had relieved him on the picket line just before the engagement at Dead Angle, \par where he was captured. He next saw Halliburton at Camp Douglas where he also was being imprisoned.. \par He stated that he had known W. B. Halliburton all of his life. \par \par Jane Runion Harmon said that she could remember grandma Ollie Bottoms saying that William Halliburton and Paschal A Bottoms \par both returned from the Civil War togather. That is because the 47th and 12th TN \par Infantry was combined and Paschal A was in the 12th and Wm Halliburton in the 47th. \par \par \par Notes for MARY FRANCIS ELIZABETH ALLEN: \par Burial: Presbyterian Mount Olive Cemetery, Dyer,TN \par . \par \par Marriage Notes for WILLIAM HALLIBURTON and MARY ALLEN: \par Gibson Co, TN Marriage Records: \par HALLIBURTON, William marr.
