Hannah Ashby (daughter of James Ashby and Sarah Carter) was born 01-Sep-1850 in Ightham Kent, and died date unknown.
Notes for Hannah Ashby: Hello John,
I have been following-up on my family tree and have a small piece of info for you concerning Hannah Ashby baptised 1850 - daughter of James & Sarah.
My mother remembers her great aunt Hannah from the 1920s or 30s. Hannah and her husband were at that time running a small shop at Hextable, Kent.
Hannah's married name was HAWKINS
She married Thomas Hawkins in 1889. I do not have a copy certificate but the ref available from FreeBMD is:
June 1889 Malling 2A 961
There were no children
Thomas was born 1857/8 at or near to Stanstead, Kent and was therefore her junior by several years. I suspect that Hannah was a bit self conscious about the age difference - on Census returns she narrows the gap consistently!
At the time of the 1891 Census Hannah (incorrectly shown as Anna) and Thomas were living at North Down Cottage, London Road, Wrotham. Thomas was a coachman by trade. They had a lodger - his name was George Carter (married, aged 55 and born in Ightham).
I wonder if George and Hannah were related? I do not see that George Carter within your family tree details.
As yet I have been unable to trace when Hannah died.
