HISTORY: What I can remember about my Grandmother Mary Elizabeth is she was a
very sweet and kind person. She always held good thoughts and never spoke ill
of any person. I remember her crocheting doilies, which amazed me that someone
could create such intricate work. She never complained about anything. I feel
she had some hard times in her life, losing two daughters and then her husband
at such a early age. She always said she would never marry again, that Luke was
the only man in her life. She used to come to Arizona and stay a few months,
then go back to Pittsfield, where she made her home. I only wish I had took
more time to spend with her while she was here. I do remember when I was a
young child, we children used to watch her wash her hair. She would soap it up
and make two big horns sticking up from her head and stick her false teeth out
and chase us around. She was a very fun Grandmother!
