My name is Marcia Laurent Regnier and this is the family history of my father, Joseph Edward Regnier and my mother, Marguerite Mary Laurent. I have spent many many many hours researching our Family History and I am very happy to be able share it with all of you. If you would like to add any information about you or your family, or correct the information I have gathered, just email me and I will add it to my files. Working on our family history is always an on going venture!!

Please enjoy the information I have found, it travels back to 1669 and starting with Claude Laurent in La Bresse, 88075, Vosges, Lorraine, France. (I can't tell you how difficult it was to find that info!) It also travels back to 1636 to Francois Regnier in La Rochelle, France. I am still trying to find church or civil records to take me back farther. I would like to thank our French cousin, Joelle Mougel in Bussang, France. Without your help Joelle, I would have not found our French Laurent Family!! Blessings to you!

I have also researched our Gero Family (Original French spelling is Giroux) back to 1598 starting with Jean Giroux in St. Jean, Bignon, Mortagne, France traveling through Quebec, Canada, New York, and ending in Pittsfield, Berkshire, MA. USA(Please note: My Great-Grandfather, Homer Gero is really named Joseph Ommer Giroux!! Watch out for those name changes! :)

There is also a wee bit of Irish in us. You will see a Forrester and Frawley line which belongs to my Grandmother Mary Elisabeth Gero (Giroux) who married Lucien Leon Laurent. Her mother's lines (Mary Elizabeth Forrester) go back into County Kerry and County Clare, Ireland. Other than that, we are pretty much pure French!

Photos are worth a thousand words! If I had just ONE photo of my Great Grandfather Leon Juste Laurent or his wife Julie Emilie Mettetal I'd be the happiest person on earth! Somewhere on this earth, there MUST be a photo of them......along with our many many other family members! If you have any photos you would like to share, send them my way. I will copy them and send them back to you if you need them back. Better yet....send me copies!!

Please enjoy this site....it is all about who we are and where we come from...if not for our ancestors who walked before us, we would not be here. Let us always honor them. Love to you all......Marcia :)
