Families of Bailus Earle TurnerUpdated September 4, 2002 |

| The family of Bailus Earle Turner was one of the first families in Unuon County Georgia.Much of my informsation has come from family members. I became interested in family research listening to stories from my aunts and uncles. We here in North Georgia have a history like no other. The biggest influence has been the fear expressed by the older members of my family concerning native decent.Their warnings "We dont mention that."or We dont talk much about that." The statements that made me realy want to know what happend that so deeply affected these families for generations was "Dont get involved with our past, or they will take you away!" As a child I wanted to know why.No one would give me a straight answer.Only stories and legend or stories told as if it were another family long ago.As an adult I decided to find out for my self.I have found a lot of truth in those stories, now I underatand those fears. This is what I have found. |
