      48. William Tully7 Bowie (Hezekiah6 Bowie II, Eli5 Bowie, Rhodi4, John3, Abraham2, John1 Boye) was born Jan 1846 in , Abbeville, Sc, Usa14, and died in McCool, Attala, Ms, Usa. He married Martha Jane Wade. She was born 27 Feb 1845 in McCool, Attala, Ms, Usa, and died 24 Oct 1908 in McCool, Attala, Ms, Usa.

Notes for William Tully Bowie:
William Tully Bowie and his wife Martha Jane Wade Bowie were both born in
Abbeville County, SC and moved to Mississippi with his parents. He was a
soldier in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He died in Attala County, MS and is bur ied in Bear Creek Church Cemetery near McCool. The date of his death is unknown. He served w ith Company D, 30th Mississippi Calvary, during the Civil War.

Addendum 10 March, 1997: The following is copied from the Bear Creek Church
Cemetery list in "Cemeteries Of Attala County," and copied by Mrs. Ernest Akin and Mrs. E. C . Fenwick 29 October, 1958: "Location: T16N-R8E-S23. Located in the Northeastern part of th e county near the Attala-Choctaw County line within
a couple of miles of French Camp. To reach, go up the Natchez Trace Parkway
and just across the parkway from the Bethel Mission marker you can see the
church and cemetery. The cemetery is in good condition but is not fenced.
According to county history, it was here that Andrew Jackson camped on his way back to Tennes see with his troops after the Battle of New Orleans, and he and his men dug the well that i s nearby & located south of the cemetery."

Addendum 9 August 1999: Everette Bowie of Olive Branch Mississippi has received data from Da vid Blaine of Berwick, PA., that indicates Martha Jane Wade was born at McCool, Attala, MS . This is not the same data published by G. Henry Bowie in "Where The Brambles Bloom," pag e 351, but since David is descended from this union, it must be accepted. She would have bee n a small child of 5 years in 1850, when William Tully's family moved to Mississippi, lendin g credence to the data of David Blaine.
