ONE OF TRIPLETS, AND THE ONLY ONE TO SURVIVE. THE OTHER TWO WERE ELZIRAH
TABITHA AND JOHN THOMAS AGNEW BOWIE. SHE MARRIED JAMES HENRY GREEN AND LIVED
IN THE BUCKSTAND SECTION OF A ABBEVILLE COUNTY. HE WAS A NATIVE OF
TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, NC. THEY WERE CONSISTANT MEMBERS OF GILGAL METHODIST
CHURCH. THEY DID SOMETHING UNUSUAL IN THAT ERA: THEY GAVE FOUR OF THEIR
CHILDREN COLLEGE EDUCATIONS. BOTH ARE BURIED IN GILGAL CEMETERY.

  Notes for Erskine Calhoun Bowie:
Erskin Calhoun Bowie and wife Mary Jane Robertson made their home on part of
the Isaac Anderson Estate in Big Estatoee Valley in SC where they reared 5
children. Calhoun, as he was called, farmed his property all his life. Hen
and Janie educated their children, (quite a feat during the lean years of their
lives) despite the fact that Janie was almost an invalid for many years. Both
are buried in the Ssunrise Cemetery, Pickens, SC. It is considered logical by
G. Henry Bowie, that Erskine Calhoun Bowie was named for his uncle, Samuel
Erskine Agnew, husband of Nancy J. Bowie. For some reason the fina "e" was
dropped from Erskin Calhoun's name.
