wasborn in the Gilgal section of Abbeville County, SC. She married David L.
Greene of Transyvania County, NC. They lived for a time near Chimney Rock, NC.
However, she could not tolerate the mountain country and returned with her
children to Abbeville County and reared her children near the home of her
father. Her husband moved to the White Water Falls area of NC near the place of
his birth where he died in the 1930's. Laura Melissa died 1 Jun 1947 and is
buried in Gilgal Methodist Church Cemetery.
