Henry Bdrown Bowie was born in Long Cane Township, Abbeville County, SC. On
March 7, 1901 he married Sara Ida Sharp allso of Long Cane Township. Sshortly
after their marriage they built a home on part of thje Leslie Farm which they
purchased, located about 3 miles south of Due West, SC. Brown Bowie farmed,
operated sawmills, cotton gins, and grain threshers. He was a deacon and
member of Greenville Presbyterian Church. He died at home on May 28, 1957.
Both are buried in Greenville Presbyterian Cemetery, Greenwood County, SC.

and wife Isabel lived on a farm formerly owned by his father, Henry Brown
Bowie. He managed pubic utilities in his area. Later he was employed by the
U. S. Dep't Agriculture, retiring from that position in 1974. He also farmed
and did electrical contracting. Henry and Isabel were members of the Due West
Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where he was a ruling elder. He served
in the U. S. Army Signal Corps in WWII. Serial numberr 14124306.
